May 12th, 2022, 14 Rwanda Management Institute (RMI) Senior officials and staff started 8 weeks training on the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) at RMI Headquarters /Murambi Campus.

In this respect, RMI being a capacity development institute and authorized training center (ATC) by ICDL Africa, should be at the forefront to get its staff ICDL certified in order to disseminate the same knowledge to other institutions and provide quality services to clients with the effective and efficient use of digital infrastructure.

During the official opening ceremony, NSHIMYUMUREMYI Vincent de Paul, the RMI Principal Senior Training Coordinator urges the staff who attended the training to attentively follow the training so that every staff from RMI will be certified by the end of June 2022.

This will help RMI to successfully implement and integrate the ICDL certification program as an extra activity and RMI staff to comply with the digital talent policy which is in line with government goals that recommend the training of civil servants including students as future workforce and government employees.

Currently, computer literacy is at 8.9% (EICV 5) in Rwanda and the National Strategy for Transformation (NST-1) recommends the attainment of 60% of the adult population trained in digital literacy by the year 2024.
