1. MODULE OBJECTIVES

  • Acquaint trainees about the change of entrepreneurial mind-set and lead to understanding of  the importance of entrepreneurs for economic growth and development
  • Introduce the concept and define entrepreneur’s competencies, motivation and skills
  • Learn how to apply entrepreneurial thinking and behaviours to any business situation
  • Make clear, the reasons why people become entrepreneurs? the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, and the impact of entrepreneurship to the society
  • Understand and utilize the process of business creation and application of different models
  • Recognize opportunities and how best to take advantage of appropriate opportunities and how to generate new business ideas
  • Raise awareness about business ideas, creativity and innovation.

2. MODULE BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The purpose Entrepreneurship management module is to help develop and enhance such qualities as creativity, inventiveness and independent problem-solving skills, so as to strike a balance between theory and practical skills (e.g. how to prepare business plans and accounts) in all disciplines offered by the RMI.  Apart from offering professional qualifications, the curricula must strengthen the individual’s competences, motivation and drive, with the aim of   skilled personnel who are both employable (professional entrepreneurs) and job creators- able to create self-employment  and thus able to address   societal needs

This component will expose trainees to different business models and methods for business relations/networking, companies’ establishment and management, concept of triple helix as well as stakeholders’ collaborations and issues related to intellectual properties, management in business, above all the protections of your business.

Professional entrepreneurs believe "training" enhances entrepreneur’s capacity to think way forward it is in this context module design has components of networking, business plan concepts to be shared with entrepreneurs through exchange of experiences and challenges, it will be in form of incubation where one of the successful entrepreneurs needs to meet with trainees for networking and exchange of experience.

4. Target audience

The target audience will include Entrepreneurs, Business Manager, SME’s owners, Public enterprise managers etc.  This means employees in the government institutions charged with public enterprise development will be given some basic required expertise of entrepreneurship development.
