1. MODULE OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of this module is to equip the new recruits in the public sector with fundamental skills and understanding to complete successfully their jobs. It aims specifically:

  •  To familiarize new public servants with the new job environment in order to understand and adapt to Rwandan organizational culture and environment.
  • To impart new entrants into public service, with the necessary knowledge and skills on Government policies, strategies and processes necessary for them to execute their assigned tasks to deliver on citizens expectations.
  • To transform public servants to be committed to the national vision: (change maker, risk taker, result oriented, team work and flexibility).
  • To respond to required knowledge, skills and attitudes to be able to deliver the public good.

2. MODULE BRIEF DESCRIPTION

According to the Official Gazette n°29 bis of 18/07/2016 art.10: A public servant who is appointed on a post in public service benefits from an induction course enabling him/her to be familiar with his/her job and with public service functioning in general. Every public institution must ensure that induction courses are provided to new public servants.

Induction training enables new recruited people to become productive as quickly as possible. It can avoid costly mistakes by recruits not knowing the procedures or techniques of their new jobs and this induction course will focus only on junior staff who enter for their first time the public service.

4. TARGET AUDIENCE

The target audience for this module is composed of the new employees in order to assist them in adjustment to their new job tasks and to help them become familiar with their new work environment with the necessary knowledge and skills on Government policies, strategies and processes necessary for them to execute their assigned tasks so that they should deliver appropriately.
