- MODULE OBJECTIVES:
This course aims to provide leaners with the knowledge, skills and critical understanding needed to adopt an evidence-based and reasoned approach to refugee management according to international laws, conventions and human rights and management of refugee and displaced populations across the spectrum from emergency relief to sustainable development and long-term solution.
2.MODULE BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
In this course, trainee will learn about international laws and conventions related to refugee; principles, rights and legal framework for refugees and protection processes and long-term solutions for refugee’s problems. We will discuss refugee and asylum seeker legal frame work; differences and relationship between mix movements and refugee; humanitarian principles and civilian and humanitarian character of asylum; and protection processes like child protection, housing, land and property protection, education as international rights for refugees; detention and advocacy for refugees and we will discuss on local integration, voluntary repatriation and resettlement as proposed long-term solutions for refugees problem.
Core information will be presented in lectures and in-depth discussions which will take place in seminars involving group work based around case studies and problem-solving exercises.
