19 HR MANAGERS FROM PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS CONCLUDE PROFESSIONAL HUMAN RESOURCE INTERNATIONAL (PHRi) TRAINING AT RMI MURAMBI CAMPUS.
On 01 February 2025, 19 Human Resource Managers from ministries and government agencies concluded a one-week training in Professional Human Resource International (PHRi) which is a globally recognized course now being delivered at RMI, Murambi Campus.
In three months, those who will pass the exam will be certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) an institution recognized worldwide.
The training aims to acquaint the trainees with the expertise in international HR practices, validating ability to navigate complex HR functions and policies across different cultures and legal frameworks.
This training is being offered by Rwanda Management Institute in partnership with Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Worldwide E-Learning Campus (WEC), a professional Campus with great experience in training Human Resource Personnel worldwide.
In his remarks, on behalf of RMI Director General, Mr. NSHIMYUMUREMYI Vincent de Paul, the Principal Senior Training Coordinator congratulated the participants and wished them a very successful performance at workplace.
“You have spent here one week in training. We hope that this was a great opportunity for you improve your knowledge and skills in HR management. This will benefit not only you but the country in general because in the near future after being certified you will be recognized internationally”, he encouraged them.
Mrs Mbabazi comfort from the Public Service and Labor, conveyed the greetings from the Ministry leadership to the participants and congratulated them for the boot camp and all the efforts. She said that this program of capacity building of civil servants dates back in 2020, where the government has gone beyond just training and equipping people to professionalizing all the functions of the public service.
“Here we are, let use the chance. It is difficult but it is doable. Vision 2050 we are looking at knowledge-based economy and this is part of it. This certificate gives you regional, global competitiveness so you will have yourself to blame. At the end of the day because the government has played fully his part. We wish you be energized because personally you are goinf to be competitive and your institution and the country in general”, Mbabazi said.
Mbabazi added that, this will be part of job profile requirement for HR position in Rwanda.
Dr. Sibosiko Consolée, from Worldwide E-learning Campus Worldwide E-Learning Campus (WEC), she appreciated so much the government of Rwanda on how they are eager to provide capacity building to the civil servants so that they enhance their skills and encourages the trainees too work hard if they want to be certified. “To get this certificate is not easy because if you manage to get it there is no difference with the one who comes from abroad. This certificate is different from the academic one, because for the cademic to pass is 50% but this one is more than 70% and above all during the exam preparation we will guide you how to prepare it effectively and efficiently”, Dr. Sibosiko promised the trainees.
The representative of the trainees, said that the training was good and participative was assertive that they will all get certified. “We thank very much our trainer because he gave out all that we need to be certified. I am confident enough, that if we put our endeavors in preparing well the exam, none of us will not be certified”, he asserted.
Dr. Robert Kinanga, a lead trainer of the course, emphasized that the participants have known deeply what Human Resource is all about in various offices in tandem with the best practices.
“We have gone through various activities; from planning, recruitment, training, humans management, humans relations and use of technology”. “By now, you know the titles you are having are in tandem with what is expected of us in terms of our duties and responsibilities”, he said.
PHRi stands for "Professional in Human Resources - International" and is a globally recognized credential specifically designed for HR professionals working in international contexts.
RMI being a Public Capacity Development Institution and Training Center has different training programs for which it provides; Management Career Centered Courses, Certified Professional Courses, and Tailor-Made Courses to respond to specific skills gaps identified in individual institutions and Executive and Leadership Courses for high-profile leaders and managers.
