ELEVEN MANAGERS FROM MININFRA START PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL (PMP) CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION PREPARATION COURSE AT RMI-MUHIMA CAMPUS.

On 05 May 2025, Eleven Managers working at the Ministry of Infrastructure RMI have started a boot camp of Project Management Professional (PMP) intensive Course Examination Preparation to prepare them to sit for the official PMP exam where at the end of the training they will be able to earn certificates from Project Management Institute (PMI).

PMI is the leading professional association for project management, and the authority for a growing global community of millions of project professionals and individuals who use project management skills.

The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a globally recognized project management certification that tests candidate’s ability to manage the people, processes, and business priorities of a professional project.

This training takes six lessons to assess the readiness of the candidates for their eligibility to sit for the final PMP examination.

In his welcoming remarks, on behalf of RMI Director General, Mr. Vincent de Paul NSHIMYUMUREMYI, the Principal Senior Training Coordinator welcomed the trainees and encouraged them to dedicate their time to the course while wishing them a very successful training.

“We welcome you and wishing you a fruitful training that we believe will be useful for you, more especially we wish you to get certified, which is the reason you are here”, he said.

According to the trainer of the course, at the end of the course; trainees will be able to apply different techniques, tools, practices in managing their projects in their daily activities and above all, they will be certified by Project Management Institution (PMI).   

One of the participants said about their expectations. “We have to learn how community projects are optimized to have the desired impact on the target community so that we can provide projects that reach their goals”, he said.

PMP covers topics such as project management processes, tools, and techniques, project execution, control and closure, project planning, risk management, stakeholder management, and team dynamics among others.

The Rwanda Management Institute (RMI) is a Registered Education Provider (REP) of the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification program by the Project Management Institute (PMI). 

RMI offers PMP certification preparation courses designed to help candidates prepare for the PMP exam, covering various project management topics. They have trained staff from multiple Rwandan government ministries, including the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN), Ministry of Education (MINEDUC), and Ministry of Defense (MINADEF).

RMI is mandated to ensure training in Administration and Management disciplines for public service, private sector, and civil society organizations personnel. RMI, also offers Leadership and Management Development training as well as Advisory Services, and Research and Consultancy services.
