RMI awards certificates to participants completing ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety management systems training
On April 10, 2026, at RMI Muhima Campus, Rwanda Management Institute (RMI) officially awarded certificates to 28 participants from 16 public institutions who successfully completed the implementation course on ISO 45001:2018: Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems – Requirements with Guidance for Use.
The awarding ceremony followed a five-day intensive training held at RMI Murambi Campus, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Public Service and Labour (MIFOTRA). The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of public servants to establish, implement, and continually improve effective occupational health and safety management systems in line with international best practices.
Throughout the program, participants acquired practical knowledge and tools to identify workplace hazards, assess and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with ISO 45001:2018 requirements. The training is expected to significantly boost awareness of occupational health and safety principles, foster a proactive safety culture, and enhance institutional capacity to prevent workplace incidents. Ultimately, these efforts will contribute to reducing occupational risks and hazards, improving employee well-being, and increasing overall organizational productivity and service delivery.
Speaking at the ceremony on behalf of the Management, Vincent de Paul NSHIMYUMUREMYI, the Principal Senior Training Coordinator, commended the participants for their dedication and active engagement throughout the training. He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to drive tangible improvements in workplace safety and health standards within their respective institutions.
Participants expressed their appreciation to RMI and MIFOTRA for delivering a highly practical and impactful training. They emphasized its relevance in supporting compliance with ISO 45001:2018 standards and enhancing workplace conditions across public institutions, ultimately contributing to improved service delivery.
This initiative underscores RMI’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality professional development programs that support both public and private institutions in Rwanda to align with international standards while fostering safe, healthy, and productive work environments.
