RMI CONCLUDES DENTAL CLAIM VERIFICATION TRAINING FOR MMI STAFF.

On 17 January 2024, Rwanda Management Institute (MMI) completed a three-day training for Ten Military Medical Insurance staff in Dental claim verification. The training aimed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct thorough and consistent verification of claims for various dental procedures.

The training needed to address the following, among others; equip participants with a detailed understanding of common dental procedures and their clinical justifications, help participants  to develop skills that help in conducting  proper and consistent claim verification  for dental procedures, familiarize trainees with codes, terms used in billing processes related to dental procedures and fostering precision, accuracy, and collaboration to promote transparency and fairness in the bills processing for dental procedures because inaccurate or inconsistent claim verification for dental procedures can lead to inefficiencies, financial losses, and strained relationships between health insurance providers and dental clinics.

At the closing ceremony, trainees as well as the trainer were commended for the commitment put in the training and urged to use effectively the knowledge gained by displaying professionalism.  

The class representative thanked Rwanda Management Institute  and the facilitator for the training which he said was well prepared.

"This training gave us a lot of knowledge because it enhanced our understanding of most of the  dental procedures  and their relevance in patient care, it increased our capacities in claim verification for various dental procedures, it improved our ability to identify discrepancies and errors in dental claims, among others”, he said.

The facilitator said that the training was very useful because the knowledge and skills gained through the training will undoubtedly contribute to improved accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in verifying dental procedure claims, ultimately benefiting both the insurance and its clients.

With the growing complexity of dental procedures and associated billing practices, the MMI health insurance staff working in claim verification needed to be acquainted with dental terminology, procedural classifications, and  more claim verification skills to be able to  handle their responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
