RMI Concludes General Surgery Claims Verification Training for MMI Staff
On 4 September 2026, Rwanda Management Institute (RMI) concluded a five-day General Surgery Claims Verification Training for MMI staff at Muhima Campus. The training aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of common surgical procedures, techniques, and the clinical relevance of surgical consumables.
The programme covered key areas including digestive system procedures, anaesthesia, gastrointestinal cancer resections, surgical emergencies, thyroid and breast surgery, hernia repair, and minor surgical procedures. Participants also explored perioperative care, insurance workflows, high-cost consumables, patient safety, clinical documentation, insurance coverage, and cost management.
The training provided a platform for participants to discuss practical challenges, complex cases, and common pitfalls in insurance claims, linking clinical knowledge with effective claims management.
The programme is expected to strengthen professional capacity, promote collaboration between medical practitioners and insurance staff, and support best practices in patient safety, documentation, and healthcare cost management.
