RMI EMPOWERS PUBLIC SERVANTS THROUGH WORLD BANK PROCUREMENT REGULATIONS TRAINING.

On 04 August 2025 – Rwanda Management Institute (RMI) in its continued commitment to enhancing public sector professionalism, successfully concluded an 8-day capacity-building training on World Bank Procurement Regulations for procurement professionals from MINEDUC at Murambi Campus.

The workshop, held in collaboration with MIFOTRA, Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) and its affiliated agencies, brought together 16 procurement officers from various institutions with the aim of strengthening their skills in managing internationally funded projects.

Representing the Director General of RMI, Mr. Nshimyimuremyi Vincent de Paul, the Principal Senior Training Coordinator, highlighted the transformative impact of the training.

“The package you have gained and the network you have created will be useful to each and every one of you in the performance of your duties. Knowledge is power—but shared knowledge creates results.”

The training was both interactive and practical, using a participatory methodology where participants actively engaged in case studies analysis, group discussions, and real-life experience sharing. This method ensured the learning was not just theoretical but aligned with the actual challenges faced by procurement professionals in the field.

Representing the trainees, one participant expressed appreciation. “We saw many new things we did not know before, which will help us a lot in our daily work. This training has added real value to our capacity as procurement professionals”.

The lead trainer emphasized the vital role such trainings play in fostering accountability and effectiveness in public service delivery:

“Training is very important because it is part of life. No institution can expect performance without investing in continuous learning for its staff. Theory is one aspect,  but performance requires real life experience”.

A notable highlight of the closing session was the presence of Mr. Michel, representative of the Ministry of Public Service and Labour (MIFOTRA), who commended both RMI and the government for prioritizing capacity development in the public sector.

“We thank the government for providing this opportunity to strengthen the competencies of public servants. I encourage you all to share recommendations on areas where additional training is needed so that we can continue building a results-driven public workforce,” Michel urged.

As RMI continues to position itself as a center of excellence for training and development, this program stands as a strong example of how strategic partnerships and quality training can drive improved service delivery and institutional performance across Rwanda.

Rwanda Management Institute continues to play a leading role in providing professional training, research, and consultancy services aimed at improving public service delivery. With campuses in Murambi, Musanze, and Kigali, RMI remains a key pillar in Rwanda’s human resource development strategy.
