RMI STRENGTHENS ITS QUALITY SYSTEMS AND AUDIT CAPACITY THROUGH TECHNICAL SUPPORT FROM RSB.

On 10 October 2025, Rwanda Management Institute (RMI) has successfully completed a one week-long technical support program provided by Rwanda Standards Board (RSB). The initiative focused on strengthening RMI’s internal systems to conduct self-assessment in line with international best practices.

During the training, all RMI staff received practical technical support on ISO 9001:2015, which emphasizes continuous improvement and quality service delivery, and ISO 19011:2018, which outlines principles and methods for effective auditing.

Speaking at the closing session, Dr. Charline Mulindahabi, the Director General of RMI, commended the collaboration, noting:

“This training marks a key milestone in RMI’s journey toward institutional excellence. By embracing international quality and audit standards, we are equipping our staff with the tools needed to deliver efficient, transparent, and high-quality public services”. “We will achieve this if we work hard, and everyone shall participate”, said the Dr. Mulindahabi.  

The Lead Trainer from RSB, highlighted the importance of applying standards in daily operations:

“Our goal is to empower RMI staff with practical skills to implement and monitor quality management systems effectively. Continuous improvement is not just a requirement of RS ISO 9001:2015 but it’s a mindset that drives sustainable institutional growth.”

Reflecting on the experience, Willy Twagirumukiza, the RMI’s Senior Quality Assurance Officer (SQAO), emphasized:

“This technical support has deepened our understanding of how to integrate RS ISO RS ISO 9001:2015 and RS ISO 19011:2018 standards into RMI’s daily functions. It strengthens our internal audit mechanisms and ensures that our services meet the expectations of both stakeholders and the public.”

This collaboration aims to empower RMI to enhance its operational efficiency, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and deliver high-quality services aligned with international standards — ultimately leading to certification.

RMI remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across all its functions, while continuing to support capacity development within Rwanda’s public institutions.

RMI is mandated to ensure training in Administration and Management disciplines for public service, private sector and civil society organizations personnel. RMI, offers also Leadership and Management Development training as well as Advisory Services, and Research and Consultancy services.
