Researches

Research at RMI is comprised of the following streams which are aligned with the NST2 and training interventions. These streams are updated and modified from time to time and can be carried out as either collaborative, applied or commissioned depending on the need and nature of partnerships. These research cover the following:

Civil Service, Private Sector, and Civil Society Capacity Building Research Stream

Areas of research expected to be covered under this stream will address but not limited to the following sectors:

  • Leadership and Organizational Development
  • Administration and Management
  • Public Sector Performance Management
  • Corporate Development.
  • Labour and Youth Employment.
  • Public Financial Management.
  • Digital Workforce and data-driven Management.

Secondary Cities and Municipal Management Research Stream.

This stream will focus on issues related to smart cities and the capacities needed to strengthen to become economic growth poles of the country. Some of the research areas will include:

  • Performance-Based Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Smart Cities and Technology.
  • Governance and Policy.
  • Communication and Client engagement.
  • Digital Learning.
  • Health and Education.

 

Policies, Programs and Projects Evaluation Studies Stream.

This stream is purposed to build in-depth impact studies for understanding and decision-making on important socio-economic issues under NST2 and Vision 2050. The above stream will address policy related interventions with the purpose of informing policy and programs design and improvement through applied research. Specifically, this stream will conduct studies on the following:

  • Program Management.
  • Strategy and Transformation.
  • Cross-cutting interventions.

Public Outreach, Dialogue and Learning Series Stream.

 

This research stream involves capacity symposia events to showcase RMI journey in capacity development. It also builds a strong knowledge repository coordination roadmap. The learning series stream is intended to:

  • Attract research done in relevant areas.
  • Build a pool of researchers.
  • Engage and bring on board RMI Alums.
  • Rwandan and External industry experts in different areas.

It further documents best practices generated from the implementation of NST1,NST2 and Vision 2050. The stream is be conducted through:

  • Symposia events.
  • Keynote speaker series.
  • Panel discussions.
  • Virtual presentations.
  • Open days.
